This checklist guides new employees through IT setup and access requirements to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. It covers workstation setup, software installation, connectivity, and IT check-ins for the first month.

New Employee IT Onboarding Checklist:

First Day: Setup

💻 Setting Up Your Workstation

• Log in to your computer using provided credentials
• Connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet
• Change your temporary password
• Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA/2FA)
• Open the Company Portal (Windows)/Self Servic e(Mac) app
• Install GlobalProtect VPN from the Company Portal (Windows)/Self Service(Mac)
• Install required tools (VPN, security software, Department related Software, etc.)
• Access and confirm your company email (Outlook) is working
• Ensure Microsoft Teams is installed; if not, install Company Portal (Windows)/Self Service(Mac) and log in

First Week: Getting Comfortable

• Learn how to submit IT support tickets
• Identify your IT support contact person/team
• Test remote access (Talk to IT)
• Set up and test department printers
• Join team Shared Mailboxes
• Create your email signature in Outlook

First Month: Ensuring a Smooth Transition

• Review IT Onboarding Power Point again:

Final IT Check-in

• Confirm access to all necessary systems and apps
• Provide feedback to IT on any issues
• Ensure backup & recovery options are enabled (OneDrive, Company Portal (Windows)/Self Service(Mac))
