About

This guide shows you how to add Company Portal, Microsoft Authenticator, Slack and Outlook to your Android phone.

First:

If you are in the office when doing this, disconnect from 5G, and use the Guest Network instead.
You need to install 2 apps from the Play Store (also called Google Play) for this to work:

  1. Microsoft Authenticator
  2. Company Portal

1. Install Microsoft Authenticator

  1. Open the Play Store / Google Play and search for Microsoft Authenticator.
  2. Tap Install.

2. Install Company Portal

  1. Open the Play Store / Google Play and search for Company Portal.
  2. Tap Install.

3. Set up Microsoft Authenticator

  1. Open Microsoft Authenticator. You are asked about notifications. Choose Allow or Don’t allow, whichever you prefer.
  2. Tap Accept.
  3. Tap Continue. You do not need to tick the box.
  4. Tap Add work or school account.
  5. Tap Sign in.
  6. Type your work email address and tap Next.
  7. Type your password and tap Sign in.
  8. Choose I can’t use my Outlook Mobile App right now.
  9. Choose Text +XX XXXXXXXX (your phone number).
  10. You receive an SMS. Type in the code from the SMS and tap Verify.
  11. Tap Continue.
  12. Tap OK.

And you are done! grinning face with smiling eyes

4. Set up Company Portal

  1. Open Company Portal. You are asked about notifications. Choose Allow or Don’t allow, whichever you prefer.
  2. Tap Sign in.
  3. Type your work email address and tap Next.
  4. Type your password and tap Sign in.
  5. On a Samsung phone, a prompt appears: Approve sign-in? . A number is shown here. Remember this number, then tap the prompt.
  6. Type the number you just remembered and tap Yes.
  7. A small popup that says Approved appears at the bottom of the Company Portal app. Wait while it signs you in.
  8. A new screen appears. Tap Begin.
  9. Tap Continue.

Important: if you have a YubiKey, there is one extra step here. You need to use your YubiKey code at this point. If you do not have a YubiKey, skip this note and carry on with the next step.

  1. Tap Agree.
  2. Wait for a little while.
  3. A new page appears. Tap Continue.
  4. Tap Next and wait.
  5. A screen appears. Tap Done.
  6. If a popup appears, tap GOT IT to continue.
  7. You are done! Because your phone is an Android, a separate area is created on your phone for your work apps. It is called Work.

Important: You cannot use apps that you downloaded from the Play Store / Google Play in the work area. You have to download them through the Company Portal.
17. Open the menu in one of two ways:
- Tap the 3 lines in the top left corner, then tap Get Apps.
- Or tap Open in the popup at the bottom of the screen. This is the easiest way, but the popup might not show up for everyone.
18. Download the apps you want from here. 😄

Congratulations, you are done! grinning face with smiling eyes
